“Let’s go Brandon” is a popular phrase among the alt right because they feel they’re getting away with saying “Fuck you Biden” without actually saying, “Fuck you Biden”.
Because that would actually require, you know…balls.

There’s more to it than that, from my perspective. I don’t use the phrase (couldn’t care less about oval office occupants).
But what I do see in it beyond what you bring up (which is also true) is a continual mocking and not letting that media person who originally said it ever live down the fact that they tried to lie about what the people were really saying, despite the fact that what the people were saying was perfectly audible and completely unmistakable.
I grant this is not going to be the case for everyone out there. But to me, that’s the real spirit of the phrase, “Let’s Go Brandon”- that the media person tried to lie to the public about the public but we still all know what the truth is despite that.
Good point, I fully agree that news/media shouldn’t sugarcoat things, though I also understand that for an FCC regulated cable broadcast which doesn’t allow profanity they would feel obligated to mitigate any liability on their part.
