About Me

The Darkener is an alias I created for myself in the good ‘ole BBS days. Its roots lie primarily in a character for the multiplayer, text-based door game I used to play in the early 1990’s called Legend of the Red Dragon. I made many friends in my youth due to L.O.R.D.

I was a computer nerd before it was cool. I’m a huge Linux and open-source guy. I make my living in I.T. support + consulting and have developed a special project that will hopefully very soon become the focus of my career.

I’m a proud husband and father. I have the best family in the world. They give me so much love and every day I’m thankful to have them in my life. I feel like the luckiest person on the planet.

Music envelopes my soul and reminds me that it’s the reason I am alive in the first place. It’s hard to explain but there’s something about music that connects me as an individual to the rest of the universe. Whether playing it (I love my bass guitar and play other instruments as well) or listening to it (I love all music but have a special place in my soul for 90’s grunge + alternative), I feel connected, immersed. The pedantic nature of physical reality seems to melt away a bit and I become more energy than mass.

I continue to swing on the spiral shaped vortex that is existence.
