Tension doesn’t have to be the default —

In my life, I’ve realized that physical muscle tension has sort of been the default.

It shouldn’t be like this.

Through nearly 20 years of Tai-chi, meditation and other relaxing techniques (lol) I’ve finally started to understand that when I am consistent with these practices is when the tension finally starts to melt away. I guess that my first 25 years of default trauma, stress and resulting imposter syndrome, CPTSD, introvertedness and my strong (yet unarmoured) empath naturecan do stuff to the body that isn’t ideal.

Only recently have I been able to be dedicated in the sense of nearly every day for more than a year practice of Tai-Chi is still producing increasingly meaningful (dare I say exponential in epiphanatic strength) benefits to my psyche. Monks aren’t kidding around—it takes nearly a lifetime of strong dedication to achieve anything close to Nirvana. Even a day or two of lapsed practice throws me off and I have to make it up. I guess it’s like most other true primary dedications.. if I’ve truly dedicated it to “part of my world”, it’s because it continues to positively affect my life.
